This is a standard pie dough recipe. It is extremely helpful to have a food processor when making this dough. I used my hands, it’s not impossible. It takes a little longer, but you really get to know your dough. I think its important to learn to make a pie dough by hand especially if you’ve never done so. It gives you a real understanding of the process
1 Mixing bowl
3 2/3 C all-purpose flour
1 C Sugar
1 1/2 t Kosher salt
3 sticks of butter ( cut into pieces, frozen)
It is important to let your dough chill for at least 2 hours before use. This can also be made up to 2 days ahead of time. Just make sure to let the dough sit at room temp for at least 15 minutes before use, it will make it easier to roll. You can also freeze this dough, and use it whenever you want for months.
